Information and Communication Technologies, which are expressed as Informatics, have become even more important with technological developments in recent years and have become an indispensable concept for all scientific fields. As a multidisciplinary discipline, Informatics (Computing) contains different academic disciplines such as artificial intelligence, cognitive sciences and computer science.

Information systems deal with the regulation of the information flow.  Therefore, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems are set up to gather, classify, store, process, transmit and present information. As a profession, informatics aim to acquire the professional skills for development and usage of information systems. Informatics is necessary in all disciplines such as health, law, business, education and communication where these systems are used.
